Our 90-minute masterclass includes tastings of 7 premium agave spirits (tequilas, mezcals, sotol, and raicilla), educational components about agave cultivation and production methods, hands-on cocktail making instruction, and expert guidance from our knowledgeable staff. Our signature tequila and mezcal tasting experience is $59 USD per person. This includes all tastings, cocktail instruction, educational materials, and expert guidance throughout the 90-minute session.

Tequila and mezcal are both agave spirits, but they differ in production and flavor. Tequila must be made from blue Weber agave in specific regions (mainly Jalisco), while mezcal can be made from over 30 agave varieties across nine Mexican states. The biggest difference is in production: tequila agaves are typically steam-cooked in ovens, while mezcal agaves are roasted in underground pits, giving mezcal its signature smoky flavor. During our tasting at Agavia Bar, we explore these differences hands-on with 7 carefully selected spirits.

From downtown San José del Cabo: 10 minutes by car or taxi. From Cabo San Lucas: 25 minutes by car or taxi. From the Tourist Corridor hotels: 5-15 minutes depending on location. Uber is available in Los Cabos, or your hotel concierge can arrange transportation. Free parking is available at Plaza La Jolla. We recommend booking your tasting first, then arranging transportation—most hotels are happy to help once you have a confirmed reservation.
